The first glimpse at the new Nexo is the bold Hyundai Initium concept.

SUV introduces new 'Art of Steel' design language and more potent hydrogen powertrain

Hyundai has introduced the Initium concept, a hydrogen fuel cell SUV that is almost certain to feature the next-generation Nexo's technology and design.
With a new powertrain that is reportedly far more performant than the one found in the current Nexo, it is meant to show the brand's dedication to hydrogen power.

It is claimed to offer a smoother ride at highway speeds thanks to its single electric engine, which can produce up to 201 horsepower, 40 more than the departing vehicle's.

It was developed in response to consumer demand for SUVs and is regarded as "solid and safe." The new plus-shaped design on the front and rear daytime running lights will be used to differentiate Hyundai's hydrogen-powered cars from those with internal combustion engines and battery-electric drivetrains. Additionally, the Initium's roofline is much more rakish than that of Hyundai's other SUVs, suggesting that aerodynamics was given top priority during the design process. According to Hyundai, the Initium is a sneak peek at a production fuel cell vehicle that will be unveiled by the summer of next year. Given that its design closely resembles prototypes that have been seen testing on public roads throughout Europe, this is most likely the replacement for the present Nexo.

Less than 50 Nexos have been sold in the UK when it first arrived five years ago, and the company has not yet stated if the newest model will make an appearance there.
Hyundai stated that it aims to have a range of over 404 miles between fill-ups, which is comparable to the Nexo's official 414-mile range. Additionally, it includes vehicle-to-load capability, which enables external equipment to be powered by the car's batteries. The Initium introduces a new design language known as "Art of Steel" in addition to the technological advancements.
