The Speaker Of Parliament, Announced The Death Of Former Makindye
West Division Member Of Parliament (MP), Hussien Kyanjo,
"It is with great sadness that we learned of the
passing of our elder and former Makindye West MP, Hon Hajj Hussein
Kyanjo," she wrote on Twitter.Several people recognized Kyanjo as a great
legislator who displayed integrity and served as a unifying force.
"Hajj set the standard for legislative excellence
and leaves a legacy of a distinguished lawmaker, a unifying factor, and an
honest leader." Our hearts go out to his family and friends, as well as
the people of Makindye West, Kampala, and Uganda in general. Raji'un inna
lillahi wa inna ilayhi!"

The deceased died in Kibuli Muslim Hospital, where he had
been admitted previously.
The former Makindye West Division MP was an outspoken
opposition politician who was a member of the Justice Forum (JEEMA) until 2011,
when he became ill with a strange disease that he blamed on poisoning.
However, unconfirmed reports have circulated that the
deceased MP had cancer.
His friends came together last year to raise $30,000
(Sh105 million) for cancer treatment.
According to a notification widely posted on social
media, the politician had been poisoned and was suffering from cancer. It did
not, however, indicate the type of cancer Kyanjo was suffering from.
"Hon. Kyanjo was poisoned and is now terminally ill
with cancer." His treatment will set you back $30,000. Please help us save
his life. Participate in the fundraising campaign on Zoom tomorrow (Sunday,
April 17) at 3 p.m . UK time," the statement read.
